Ongoing intelligence gathering operations determine that additional terrorist attacks in the United Kingdom are ‘Highly Likely’, and we know that the threat is most likely to come from terrorists born and raised here in the UK. Because of this reason the government has determined that a vital part of our counter-terrorism strategy is to prevent radicalisation and stop would-be terrorists from committing acts of mass-murder.
Throughout this course we’ll look at the government’s prevention strategy and examine some of the reason people become extremists. We’ll also cover the basic objective of the prevent strategy, a risk-based approach to employing the prevent strategy, and what do to if you suspect, or are concerned over individuals or groups behaviours, and more.
