This course will cover the procedures and facets of the Mental Capacity Act including when it applies and who it affects. We’ll look at how to assess capacity, and how to ensure that people are always treated fairly by implementing procedures and best practice in both the workplace and home environment.
You’ll learn about the deprivation of liberty safeguards, and how this provides a framework for approving the deprivation of liberty for those who lack the capacity to consent for themselves to treatment or care in either the hospital or the care home setting.
