Diabetes can develop in anyone at any point in their life, and if left untreated can pose a serious risk the health and ultimately their life. There is a range of associated symptoms from high thirst, to feeling more tired than usual. It is estimate that 26% of all care home residents have diabetes, meaning being able to recognise the symptoms could result in an improved quality of life for individuals, if not saving them.

Course participants will learn what diabetes is, the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, and complications associated with the disease.
