Dementia can affect people at all stages of life. It is a chronic progressive degradation of cognition, meaning brain functionality fails over time. It can affect different parts of the brain and at different speeds.

This course will give you an overview of the different types of dementia as well as looking at common symptoms of dementia and how they can affect the brain in different ways. Furthermore, the course will look at how to deal with challenging behaviour and other strategies to help you meet the need of clients with dementia.
