Manual Handling

Over a third of all injuries in the workplace with 7 day absences are a result of goods being handled incorrectly. To help lower this figure, the government introduced the Manual Handling Operations Regulation first in 1992.

What is Manual Handling?

It is the movement or support of goods using bodily force. This could be anything from lifting, pushing, putting down, pulling or carrying goods.

The regulations clearly state duties that must be undertaken by both employees and employers. This course will take you through everything from the basics of manual handling, the regulations through to practical methods for handling goods.

By the end of this course you will have a clear theoretical understanding of how to handle goods in the workplace. However, if you must perform any form of manual handling then you are required to undertake practical training. Please contact us for more information.

What are the benefits of this course?

This course is approved and certified by the iiRSM (the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management) and the CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
